Cambridge ‘99 Rowing Club Dominate Peterborough – Again!

Cambridge ‘99 Rowing Club continued to dominate the Peterborough rowing scene this weekend. After a successful end to the Peterborough Regatta season in 2017, this weekend saw Cambridge ‘99 continue their winning streak at Peterborough for the Head of the Nene race with two crews taking home pots. The Women’s coxed 4+ consisting of Abbey Child, Chrysa Litina, Guinevere Woolstenhulme, and Agnes Bolinska (Coxed by Sebastian Hathaway) were the fasted crew for their category, completing the 2.6 km course in 13 minutes and 4 seconds. Followed closely by the Women’s Second boat in 3rd place just 9 seconds behind the first. The Men’s 8 came away with Head of the Nene completing the 5km course in 15 minutes and 52 seconds, over a minute faster than the nearest boat. The crew coxed by Sammi Tarling, consisting of Karel Kabelik, Rob Sargent, Alex Shaw, William Young, Rhidian Maltby, Friso van Gent, Nick Thorn and Nick Richardson, all were pleased with the result. Both squads are looking forward to continuing their successes as they prepare for the Norwich Head of the River and ultimately for the Head of the River Race in London.
