Notes for competitors

Marshalling Map

Please take time to read through the draw and the competitors instructions carefully. Informed crews will help the regatta run smoothly, on time, and safely.

NUmbers

Numbers will be available for collection at the Nines Boathouse from 10:30 am. If you haven’t paid yet, please bring payment with you as no numbers will be released until payment has been received. Cheques payable to Cambridge ‘99 RC.

Timings

Divisions are at 45 minute intervals. This allows 25 minutes to get all crews from Stourbridge Common to the Plough Reach and get racing started as soon as the first crews are ready.  Races in a division will start at approximately 2 minute intervals.

The draw shows times for each of the following stages:

  • Green Dragon Bridge

  • Heading to the start

  • Race Start

For example, for Division One these are 11:50, 12:00, and 12:25.

Prizes

Prize Giving will be at the Cambridge ‘99 Boat House starting at 6:30 pm where the bar will be open from 6:00 pm. All competitors, coaches, and supporters are welcome to attend.  If a crew or representative can not be in attendance, please contact the organisers, and we will arrange a time for you to collect your prizes.

At the Regatta

This 1000m side-by-side race up the Long Reach is an enjoyable day of racing for 8+ crews. For CRA boats it’s a fantastic way to nail those starts in advance of the regatta season, and for college crews it’s the perfect preparation for the May Bumps.

The regatta is a plate competition, meaning everyone will get at least two races. We run divisions and races back-to-back, so your racing should be complete as efficiently as possible.

Pots will be awarded to the winning crews at the Cambridge '99 RC boathouse later in the afternoon and the bar will be open until late.

Please direct any enquires to regatta@cambridge99.org and a member of the organising committee will get back to you.
