The club is fortunate to have one of the best boathouses on the Cam. The boathouse features a boat bay, two training rooms, a bar, lounge, along with separate men's and women' changing facilities, toilets and showers. Members are provided a keycard for access at any time.
The boathouse sits across the river from Midsummer Common, with great views across the water and less than 100m away from the famous Cambridge University Goldie Boathouse alongside various town and college boat clubs.
Visits from prospective members are always welcome, however it is recommended to make contact with one of the captains before visiting. They will be more than happy to show you around the boathouse.
There are three main aspects of effective land training for rowing: ergometer pieces, weights training and core training.
On the first floor of the club is a well-lit and ventilated training room, which is equipped with 15 ergometers, free weights including Olympic bars and bench press, one watt bike, and a stretching area.
Downstairs is a multi-gym equipped with a power rack, leg-press machine, dips & pull-up bars, and more.
The club has a weights training scheme for developing essential strength, along with different core circuits based on the individual's ability.
Coxes have access to a room filled with cox boxes and orbs, head sets and tool kits. Come Summer 2019 there will be a new Cox Room with changing and individual storage facilities.
The club competes in both sculling and sweep events, and our fleet matches our commitment to these events. In the boat bays, we have several eights, fours (bowloaders and sternloaders) and pairs. For sculling, we have several quads, doubles and single sculls. For learn-to-row and technique improvement there is a tub and two sculling play boats.
Bar and Social
The fully equipped kitchen and bar opens after weekend outings with hot food for the hungry returning crews, thanks to the valiant effort of volunteers in the club. The bar is fully stocked and opens during our frequent social events across the year.
