The Nines senior women's squad is a growing and motivated team, committed to developing competitive athletes and delivering strong performances across both national and local events. We train in both sweep and sculling, supported by a dedicated experienced coaching team.
In recent years, we’ve made exciting strides. In 2025, our Tier 1 squad qualified an 8+ for Henley Women’s Regatta, following successful qualifications of a 2- in both 2024 and 2023.
If you are new to rowing, please get in touch with our Progression Squad. This squad shapes beginners into experienced athletes and there is a clear path of development into our Senior Squad.
We operate a two-tier training structure to support a range of goals and experience levels:
Our Tier 1 targets national events including Fours Head, WEHoRR, Met Regatta, and Henley Women’s Regatta. Athletes train on average six times per week, including 3–4 water sessions, ergs, and weights.
Our Tier 2 focuses on local regattas such as Peterborough and on-Cam races, while also preparing for WEHoRR. Training includes on average four sessions per week, with 2–3 water sessions, ergs, and weights.
While training is tiered to support different levels of commitment and experience, we operate as one squad, sharing sessions, goals, and a strong team spirit. Regular social events, training camps and squad activities help our supportive and inclusive environment. We regularly use telemetry and coach analysis to improve our technique and performance, ensuring our athletes have the opportunity to develop.
We are always open to new members to join our growing squad. If you're looking to grow your skills and be part of a motivated and friendly women’s squad, get in touch with the Women's Captain.
